Welcome to Pas de Cheval

Hi all Ballet Lovers, I am Rain Hyde and I have the art of ballet running in my blood. My family and I live on a little dairy farm just south of Heidelberg, South Africa, with all our animals. I started taking ballet classes, at (Tannie Vida's ballet school name) a small ballet studio run by my ballet teacher Tannie Vida who teaches the DASA sylabis, with my older sister, Firn, when I was four. Pixie, my Grandmother who started taking ballet classes because of a bothering foot, did a three year course at UCT and danced many ballets including, a ghost from 'The Haunted Ballroom, a town folk from 'Coppelia' and so many other wonderful ballets but she did not go to a company for she married a while after finishing the course. But Pix started to teach ballet as she had to move around because Tom, her husband, worked as a engineer. And my oldest Aunt, Wendy, who also did the UCT course, went on with her ballet and she has done many ballets, until she was quite old. I seem to be following fast in their footsteps and I hope to become a good ballerina like them.

Tannie Vida came up with an idea last year that I should help her teach Pre-Primary, about age 5, and Primary, age 6. So I started helping her in about July, about two months after my collar bone had healed. I had broken it falling off my pony, Arwen. In helping Tannie Vida I had to demonstrate gallops and jumps.
